Mannon Lavern Barnett, known to many as “Barney”, “M.L.” or
“Vern” passed away at Lewisville Medical Center, on  August
20th, 2011 after  a  brief hospitalization related to renal
disease.  He was 82.  He was employed with GSI and T.I. and
retired in 1991 with Halliburton.

He was born June 1st, 1929, to  L.D. and Villa Mae Barnett,
in Davidson, Oklahoma.  He attended school in Frederick OK,
Junior  College  at  Lawton,  and graduated from Oklahoma A&M (OSU) in
1951.

He worked for GSI, T.I and Halliburton during his 41 years as a logis-
tician.  After residing in many Louisiana towns in the early years  of
his  career, the  family moved to Irving, TX.  His support of the high
school wrestling program at MacArthur HS earned him recognition in the
Texas Chapter of  the  High  School  Wrestling  Hall  of  Fame.  After
retiring  in  December 1991, he and Dorothy moved to Houma LA and they
returned to Texas in 2009.

He was predeceded in death by his parents  and  only  sibling,  Harold
Derwin Barnett.

He is survived by his wife Dorothy Callahan Barnett of Lewisville, TX,
5 Children, 11 grand-children and 2 great grand-children.
