******************************************************** Grant Bolander December 11, 2001 ******************************************************** Subject: Obituary for Mr. Bolander From: Wayne Nowry Hi Bill. Could you please include this in the next email to all Gsi members, as Grant was well respected around the world. Regards. Wayne BOLANDER: Mr. Addison "Grant" Bolander of Calgary, passed away at home suddenly on Tuesday, December 11, 2001 at the age of 60 years. Grant was born on January 7, 1941 in Olds, AB and he attended the University of Alberta. Grant lived and worked all over the world as a Processing Geophysicist, from Adelaide, Australia, to various postings in Oman, China, India, England, Singapore, Turkey, and the United States, but his home was always Calgary. He was a member of the Canadian Society of Exploration Geophysicists. Two of Grant's greatest achievements were walking on the Great Wall Of China, and processing the first two 3-D Seismic jobs ever shot in Canada. He also successfully challenged and shot the rapids on the Stellako River in Northern BC. Grant enjoyed reading, from Westerns to Fantasy and Adventure. He loved sports, maybe not bowling, and he was a fanatical follower of the Flames and the Stamps. Grant's fantasy was to drive a formula one race car and survive. Grant made many friends all over the world, and will be missed by all who knew him. Grant is survived by his mother, Irene Bolander; his brother Wilf (Maureen) Bolander all of Campbell River, BC; two sisters, Donna (Bill) Eveson of Campbell River, BC and Bonnie (Stuart) Haslett of Fraser Lake, BC; three nephews, Travis and Wesley (Carla) Bolander, and Greyson (Marla) Haslett; and three nieces, Marta and Paige (Bruce) Eveson, and Virginia Haslett. Grant was predeceased by his father, Addison in 1980.
