Charles William (Bill) Hayes passed  away  peacefully  sur-
rounded  by  his  loving  children at the Red Deer Regional
Hospital on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at age 82. He will be
lovingly remembered by his wife Nancy; children Cathy (Fred),
Rod (Maureen), Heather (Morris), Gina (Doug); their mother,
Florence Hayes;   grandchildren  Amber,  Elizabeth,  Katie,
Matthew, Melanie, Luke, Sean; great-grandchildren Seth  and
Leila;  sisters Marjorie and Lorna; brother Ernie; and many
extended family and friends. He will be met in Heaven by  his  brother
Clifford  and  his parents Kenneth and Katherine.  Bill will be remem-
bered for his integrity, work ethic, dedication to his loved ones, and
commitment to his word. His witty intellect and sense of humor will be
dearly  missed.  Bill  began  his  seismic  career at an early age and
worked in the industry until his  retirement  in  1993. His  extensive
career with GSI saw him pioneer the Canadian and  Alaskan  Arctic, and
work  in  all  parts of Alberta, the US Gulf Coast, Australia, Europe,
and Russia.  After retirement, he returned to  his  roots  in  Central
Alberta, where  he  enjoyed  reading, golfing, curling, gardening  and
volunteering at the Caroline Museum. Bill also dedicated  his time and
passion to the Sylvan Lake Church of Nazarene. A Celebration of Bill's
Life will be held at the Memorial Presbyterian Church, (5020 48 Street,
Sylvan Lake, AB) on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at 1:30 p.m.In lieu of
flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Red Deer Cancer  Centre
at  (3942 50A Avenue, PO Bag 5030,  Red Deer, AB T4N 6R2). Condolences
